HAPPY SNOW DAY WH9!  For your blizzard bag you have two assignments.
1.The first is to watch the Crash Course video on the Neolithic Revolution (above) and answer the questions that are linked in the Blizzard Bag page on your right.
    2. The second, is to read the article by Jared Diamond "The Worst Mistake in the History of the Human Race." This article is linked on the Blizzard Bag page.  If the name Jared Diamond sounds familiar, he is the same scientist who narrated Guns, Germs and Steel, the video you watched on Friday. I would like you to write a one-page, reflective essay that summarizes Diamond's argument and expresses your opinion on his ideas. The exact prompt is on the Blizzard Bag page to your right.

As you notice, both the video and the article deal with the Neolithic Revolution.  This is a major turning point in our first chapter, and more importantly, in the history of human beings on earth.  The food surplus produced by the domestication of plants and animals radically changed the material basis for human life.  From this surplus populations increased, cities were born, entire civilizations and empires emerged.  We will transition into studying agricultural villages when we return on Tuesday.  Stay warm. Craft high quality responses to the questions....and think of the Iceman!
